What are the marks of an abusive church and leader? What should a person do if they realize they are in an abusive church? This can be any denomination. When the pastor or leadership becomes very authoritative, abuse can creep into any church. These are not your traditional cults; they are often cultic in their manipulation, legalism and denouncing of other churches, expecting persecution and even feed off it – offering as proof that they are indeed the true church.
